In the first quarter of 2021, the UK's Android platform saw a dynamic performance among the top Music and Podcasts applications. Sensor Tower's data provides a snapshot of how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

TuneIn Radio: Music & Sports experienced a steady increase in downloads, starting at 5.8K in the last week of December 2020 and reaching 6.7K by the end of March 2021. The app's weekly active users saw a positive trend as well, climbing from 72.6K to 91K in the same period. Revenue also showed growth, peaking at 4.7K USD in late January before ending the quarter at around 3.4K USD.

Podcast Player App - Castbox had a high at the start of the quarter with 1.8K downloads in the first week of January, followed by a peak of 2.3K in mid-January. However, downloads decreased towards the end of the quarter, finishing at 918. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 101K to 106.4K before closing the quarter at 106.4K.

Stitcher - Podcast Player saw modest download numbers, starting at 227 and peaking at 294 in late January, but ending the quarter at 195. Its weekly active users fluctuated slightly but showed an overall decline from 3.8K to 3.5K. Revenue trends were erratic, with a notable peak of 791 USD in late March.

Anghami: Play music & Podcasts downloads and weekly active users indicated a downward trend. Beginning the quarter with 185 downloads, it concluded with 132, while active users dropped from 1.9K to 1.8K. However, revenue saw a mid-quarter rise, reaching 669 USD in early March.

Lastly, Podcast App - Podcasts downloads varied, with an early January dip to 388, a surge to 1.1K in early March, and a subsequent fall to 583 by quarter's end. The app's weekly active users saw a peak of 2.5K in early March, a significant increase compared to the start of the quarter's 1.9K.
